Rabbi Shlomo Zacharow teaches shechitah at Pardes, training students to become shochatim u’vodkim and uphold the highest standards of halakhic practice. Originally from Connecticut, he has lived in Israel since 1991, primarily in Jerusalem. Shlomo received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and earned both a Master’s Degree and rabbinic ordination from the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary.
Shlomo is the founder and Chief Educator of the Sacred Slaughter Institute, where he combines the study of classical Jewish texts with hands-on instruction in ritual slaughter, inspection, and kosher meat preparation. He also serves as Av Beit Din of the Israel Rabbinical Assembly’s Tribunal for Divorces, and teaches at both the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary and the Conservative Yeshiva. A longtime supporter of Jewish communities in Ukraine, Shlomo has continued visiting the country even during the current war.
