Inspired Parenting

What if parenting is not only something we do, but also a spiritual practice through which we ourselves can grow?

Inspiring Parenting brings Jewish wisdom into conversation with the everyday work of raising children. Led by Pardes’s Tovah Leah Nachmani together with Dasee Berkowitz of Ayeka, the series explores how spiritual practice can help parents become more present, reflective, generous, and connected to their children.

The conversations begin not with the question of how to create perfect children—or perfect parents—but with the inner work of parenting itself. Episodes explore teshuva, generosity, prayerful living, vulnerability, storytelling, and Pesach, asking how Jewish practice can help us pay attention to what is happening within our families and within ourselves.

How can our children help us change for the better? What happens when parents are willing to be vulnerable? How do we listen to our own yearnings while also making space for the needs of our children? And how can family stories and Jewish rituals become vehicles for transmitting values and identity from one generation to the next?

Drawing on Torah, Jewish spiritual practice, and their own experiences, Nachmani and Berkowitz offer listeners tools for approaching parenting with greater intention without pretending that family life is simple.

Inspiring Parenting invites parents to see ordinary family moments as opportunities for spiritual growth—and to discover that raising children can also challenge us to become more fully ourselves.
