Diane Bloomfield: Exile and Revealing the Hidden Aleph

Introduction

God’s name is not mentioned explicitly in the book of Esther.  This famous hiding of G-d is like a Purim costume that covers an underlying reality of God’s presence throughout the book.   Through the study of the Ger Chassidic Rebbe, the Sfat Emet, we will peer under the surface of the text to reveal the quiet, illuminated, hidden aleph in Esther’s story and in the story of our lives.

This class was recorded as part of the Summer Pardes Executive Learning Seminar: Ruth & Esther: From Rags to Royalty (July 3 – 7, 2016). The Seminar will be running again this December 18-22, 2016. For more information, visit our website at http://www.pardes.org.il/executive/.
