The Jewish Studies In-Service Teacher Training Program

JSITT is designed for educators with strong subject expertise but limited teaching experience. Acquire the essential pedagogy skills and strategies that will enrich the classroom experience for you and your students. Covering curriculum design, lesson planning, classroom management, student engagement, and assessment

One-on-one

with expert Jewish studies educators (optional)

Dates

Online courses run from August 2026 through May 2027. Each course runs 4-6 weeks, with a 1-hour weekly webinar.

Mentoring is available from July 2026 through June 2027.

Mentoring:

Dependent on number of sessions (starts at $1000 for 5 sessions)

Eligibility

Currently employed as a Jewish studies teacher at a day school
-or- plan to begin teaching Jewish studies at the start of the next academic year have Jewish subject knowledge, but lack formal pedagogical training
